Armagedroid is the first half of the eighth episode of season 2 of My Life as a Teenage Robot.

The episode was produced in 2004 and premiered worldwide on December 3, 2004 in Australia and on Nickelodeon in the United States on March 25, 2005.

Synopsis[]

Armagedroid, once a powerful global protector before he went rogue, has returned. Armagedroid was programmed to disarm and destroy all weapons, and part of the problem is that he can't discern between friend and foe. How can Jenny stop a robot built so huge and powerful, and what does Dr. Wakeman have to do with this metallic titan?

Plot[]

The episode begins with Jenny completing Wakeman’s trainings haphazardly, having grown bored and tired of the routines and contraptions. While Wakeman insists that there are things she still has to learn, Jenny believes she has nothing left to teach her, and leaves for the mall. Dismayed, Wakeman storms back to her lab, only to find every alarm going off as something tunnels up and emerges from the Earth’s crust.

At the mall, Jenny complains to Brad and Tuck about her mom (and parents in general) when she gets a call from Wakeman, who’s been monitoring worldwide transmissions and tells her to come home. She warns her about how dire the situation is, only for her to be ignored and “bagged” by an annoyed Jenny. The threat soon makes its way to the mall, and Jenny goes to confront it. The threat reveals itself to be a powerful, indestructible, colossus robot named Armagedroid, who easily crushes and runs her over. Jenny, while heavily damaged, survives and furiously chases after him, dismissing another warning call from Wakeman to not engage.

Jenny tries threatening Armagedroid with one of her weapons, but he snatches the weapon and throws it into a fiery furnace embedded in his chest. He claims himself to be a bringer of justice and won’t rest til the world is free of all weapons. In the ensuing battle, Jenny finds herself outmatched as Armegedroid takes each one of her weapons and subdues her with his electric shield, reducing her to pieces. She realizes Wakeman was right, but before he can finish her off, Brad and Tuck (along with reinforcements) distract the colossus with slingshots and water balloons that prove ineffective, and take her home to a devastated Wakeman who reassembles her.

While Jenny undergoes a reboot, Wakeman sorrowfully blames herself for what happened. When Brad and Tuck ask why, she reveals that she was the inventor behind Armagedroid who assembled him to aid Skyway Patrol during the First Intergalactic War, and ultimately helped them win against alien invaders. However, his programing and drive to destroy all weapons eventually led Armagedroid to seek out and destroy their own artillery, becoming a threat to humanity. In an attempt to stop him, Wakeman tricked the robot into tunneling to the center of the Earth (claiming that a powerful bomb laid there) hoping he’d perish in the molten magma, only to be proven wrong years later. She went on to assemble the XJ robot line to replace him, and, despite not programming Jenny and the others to fight Armagedroid, realizes it’s only a matter of time before he starts taking innocent lives and that he must be stopped.

Jenny successfully comes back online and apologizes to Wakeman, who formulates a plan to defeat Armagedroid. Jenny confronts him again in the city park, where he begins taking mundane weapons, such as forks, from people. A second battle ensues where, much like before, Jenny attacks him with all of her gadgets, only for him to snatch and throw them in his furnace one by one. He eventually locates a weapon inside Jenny’s core and forcefully rips it out of her, tearing her to pieces once more. However, Jenny smiles and reveals that the weapon was a proton bomb set to self destruct and escapes with Wakeman as the bomb detonates inside Armagedroid, destroying the colossus and sending his head flying through space.

Jenny acknowledges her mom still has a lot to teach her, and Tuck compliments Wakeman on her plan and moves, only for her to misinterpret and take offense to his words.

Quotes[]

  • Jenny: The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
  • Jenny: Excuse me, skyscraper head. But you need to clean up this mess... before you become a part of it. (whips out her laser gun)
  • Armagedroid: You foolishly reveal yourself as a weapon? You must be destroyed!
  • Jenny: Right, right. Another villain with a chip on his shoulder.
  • Armagedroid: Villain?! I am Armagedroid! My purpose is noble! My mission is pure! I will not rest until I have rid this planet of weaponry! I am the peacemaker! Now, perish!

  • Armagedroid: Your efforts are fruitless. Nothing will stop my noble mission!
  • Jenny: Noble? Please. What good is saving people from weapons if you hurt people in the process?
  • Armagedroid: Your interference can no longer be abided. This ends NOW!
  • Jenny: Not while I still have artificial breath in my body! (fires missiles at Armagedroid, but to no affect)

  • Jenny: Come on, you overgrown bulldozer! I'll fight you down to my last weapon!
  • Armagedroid: So be it.

  • Jenny: (lying on the ground, severely damaged, while Armagedroid overshadows her) Villains. You're so predictable.
  • Armagedroid: What reason have you to smile?
  • Jenny: If you'd have paid attention, you'd have seen that last weapon was a protonic explosive device, set to self-destruct. My mom's just so darn smart. (Mrs. Wakeman then carries Jenny away with a jetpack on her back) Enjoy the fireworks.
  • (Armagedroid then shortly blows up afterward, sending his head into space)
  • Armagedroid: I will liberate the Earth. Even I must destroy it to do so!!!

Goofs[]

When Jenny was laying unconscious, Dr. Wakeman had put jumper cables on Jenny's bolts on her head to recharge, and later when Dr. Wakeman returned after telling her story of the reason why she built Jenny, Jenny's bottom front feet tips were blue and once Dr. Wakeman approached Jenny with a clear close up view of her head, the jumper cables are gone.
