Speak No Evil is the second half of the fifth episode of season 1.
The episode was produced in 2002 and premiered worldwide on November 22, 2002 in Australia and on Nickelodeon in the United States on September 5, 2003.
Synopsis[]
While on an away mission in Japan, Jenny winds up losing one of her language system disks for English speech. Now Jenny can't switch off from speaking in full Japanese, which is a problem when she can't tell anyone what's happening.
Plot[]
Trouble in Tokyo[]
Speak No Evil (2002) begins with Jenny arriving in Japan in response to a crisis. Using one of her language disks to communicate with the citizens, she has everyone stand back as she deals with the threat; a horde of fanged goblins. She easily dispatches each one with a single hit, bats away a big fat goblin and bowls over the rest with a boulder. However, the boulder comes back around and hits Jenny in the back of the head, causing her English-language disk to fall out. A young girl finds the disk, but an oblivious Jenny departs before she can return it to her.
Japanese Jenny[]
Arriving back home, she gives Brad and Tuck gifts from Japan, but when Brad invites her to the mall, she finds herself continuing to speak Japanese and is unable to switch back to English. Panicked, she runs to Wakeman for help, but she can't communicate her problem clearly, so Wakeman has her open her oral drive, and that's when she realizes Jenny's missing a language disk. Before she can do anything about it, the alarm goes off and Jenny goes to stop the threat, despite her predicament.
Downtown, a building fire rages through the city, causing everyone to panic. Jenny arrives and tries to help the people, but, due to them not understanding Japanese, they continue to panic. The fire department even leaves to look up the language at the library, leaving Jenny alone to fight the fire.
Double Trouble[]
Meanwhile, Tuck tries out his new gift from Jenny; a small hydrophilic sponge creature in a test tube, but misreads the instructions and gives it water, which causes it to grow into a giant monster, while also inflicting great pain to it. The monster ends up chasing Tuck into town and absorbs him.
While struggling to hold up a burned-up building, Jenny tries to get two passing bystanders to attach her hose to the fire hydrant, but ends up knocking one out, and the other keeps misinterpreting her words. The building eventually burns to a crisp and a boulder on top, similar to the one before, falls off and bounces towards the sponge monster, knocking the town's emergency supply of water onto it.
Jenny battles the enormous sponge creature, but, upon learning that it too can speak Japanese, converses with it and convinces it to release Tuck. The monster explains its hurtful to Jenny, and she uses the water in him to put out the fire, reducing it back to its small size.
All's Well That Ends Well?[]
Afterwards, a touring Japanese family familiar with hydro creatures offers to bring it back home. Their daughter also happens to be the same young girl from Japan who found Jenny's missing disk, which she returns to the robot. Her English restored, Jenny assures Tuck and the others that there will be no more misunderstandings.
Sometime later, Brad is having trouble with his own sponge creature, which is vulnerable to the sun. He ends up leaving it in the sunlight, in which the creature begins to grow and break the test tube as the episode ends.
